The Laranja Queimada huge round lampshade is the star of the Brancopreto Collection. It is stunning, and will make an incredible statement in any interior. It is primarily monochrome, but with a striking dash of burnt orange. When lit, the orange glows beautifully.
Oranges are close to our hearts - the Looma workshop is based in Silves, Portugal's very own orange-growing country. From our workshop we can see orange groves as far as the eye can see, so it only felt right to create our very own homage to the vibrant colour of oranges.
The orange colour was achieved using madder root, and much of the wool (the more textured wool you can see) was processed and spun by us from Churras Algarvias, the native sheep breed of the Algarve. The Churra Algarvia wool was given to us by Maria, who runs a wonderful agroecological farm called O Monte das Cebolas - her flock of Churra Algarvia sheep are very well cared for, so the quality of the wool is spectacular.
The lamp measures 70cm x 70cm x 40cm.
Please bear in mind that each Looma lampshade is a one-off - a unique, hand crafted piece of art. Once this piece is sold then we will not create another to replace it- this is one of the reasons why each Looma lamp is so special.
Please note: Looma lamps are lampshade only - the light fixture and cable is not included.
